No Lighters on board!
US-bound passengers are prohibited from carrying lighters on them or in cabin baggage in airport sterile areas, or on aircraft, in order to comply with the Transportation Security Administration.

This includes butane, absorbed fuel (Zippo-type), electric/battery-powered and novelty lighters. Passengers travelling with a lighter will be asked to hand it over to security and will not get it back!  We're not quite sure how smokers will be able to light up in the smoking lounge at the airport though?!

Passengers flying Singapore Airlines will now have the opportunity to savour one of New Zealand's most famous wines. The 2004 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc will be offered to First Class passengers on selected routes.

The 2004 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc was chosen by Singapore Airlines' wine panel after a rigorous selection process to ensure that passengers are provided with the highest quality food and wine service in the sky

Shower Souvenir
It's hard to find a good shower apparently! A Bristish couple reportedly loved their hotel shower so much - they took it with them.
The couple bypassed all the usual souvenirs for thieves such as towels, bathrobes and toiletries and stole the entire shower unit from the ensuite bathroom of their room at the Globe Hotel in Topsham, UK.

First Tree House in the Maldives
Six Senses Resorts & Spas has introduced the first tree-house villas in the Maldives as part of the Jungle Reserve at Soneva Fushi. Covering a footprint of 700 square metres, the Jungle Reserve is comprised of a beachfront villa with an open-air garden bathroom done in the Soneva signature Robinson Crusoe ambience. An elevated walkway leads from the villa to a pavilion with two day beds and direct access to a pool. The Spa Suite offers an open-air treatment room with two massage beds and a gym. A footbridge travels 2.5 metres above the ground as it heads to a tree house with bunk beds and a day bed. The tree house features a terrace with a water slide looking out through the tree tops. The Soneva Fushi Resort is located on the private island of Kunfunadhoo in the northern Baa Atoll, an exhilarating 25-minute sea plane trip from the international airport in Male. Watch those facelifts!
A man who had a face lift has apparently been denied boarding because he looked nothing like his passport photo! Brian Yates, aged 59, says his facelift made him look 20 years younger. But when checking in for a UK flight the attendant thought it may have been an imposter and wouldn't allow him to board.

Air New Zealand is sticking by its disabled passengers policy, whereby Air NZ cabin crew will not assist disabled passengers from their wheelchairs into their seats. Air NZ says it is too protect their cabin crew from injury, yet ironically Air NZ are the sponsors of the Paralympics New Zealand team!
